Thank you, Ashley, for the opportunity to quote your window film installation. The focus is reducing heat and glare, with frosting to screen the pool from view and give the glazing a cleaner appearance.

PARTS A & B · SOLAR GARD

Sentinel Plus Silver 20

Exterior solar control window film

Applied to the outside of the glass, Sentinel Plus Silver 20 reflects solar energy before it travels through the glazing, helping reduce heat build-up in sun-exposed rooms. Its silver finish creates a consistent, reflective exterior appearance, while its darker tone controls bright sunlight and screen glare without obscuring the view through the glass.

HEAT & GLARE CONTROL

82%solar energy rejected

82%glare reduction

0.18solar heat gain coefficient

16%visible light transmitted

Performance on 6 mm clear glass.

What do the film specs mean?

For heat control, start with SHGC. The other figures explain glare, brightness, reflection and UV protection.

Solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) · 0.18
This is the share of the sun’s heat that enters through the glass, including heat absorbed by the glass and then released indoors. A value of 0.18 means about 18% enters. Lower is better for reducing solar heat gain. It describes heat through the glazing, not the temperature of the whole room.
Total solar energy rejected (TSER) · 82%
The share of the sun’s total energy kept from entering through the glazing. Higher is better for solar heat control. On the same glass, this is the other side of the SHGC figure: 82% rejected and 18% entering.
Glare reduction · 82%
The reduction in visible brightness compared with the same glass without film. This helps reduce harsh sunlight and makes screens and work areas more comfortable to use.
Visible light transmission (VLT) · 16%
The amount of visible light that passes through the filmed glass. Lower values mean a darker finish and stronger shading. This film substantially reduces brightness while retaining a view through the glass.
Exterior reflectance · 61%
The share of visible light reflected from the outside. This gives the film its reflective silver appearance. Reflection and daytime privacy depend on the light difference between indoors and outdoors.
UV blocked · More than 99%
Blocks ultraviolet radiation in the 300–380 nm range. This helps reduce UV-related fading; heat and visible light can still contribute to fading.

Solar Gard figures above are for exterior installation on 6 mm clear glass.

Optional edge sealing & warranty

Edge sealing is an optional extra for Parts A and B. You can proceed with either part without it. It extends the film and labour warranty.

Standard cover, without edge sealing: 1-year labour warranty and 6-year film-only warranty.

Extended cover, with edge sealing: 7-year product and labour warranty.

Edge sealing adds a protective seal around the film edges. It is priced separately for each part.

Edge sealing is not included by default. Tick the optional extra under Part A or Part B if you would like the extended warranty.

Dusted Crystal

Performance Cast Vinyl

Dusted Crystal screens the pool from view with a soft, uniform frosted finish. It improves the outlook through the pool-area glazing and door while allowing natural light through and adding privacy.

POOL-AREA SCREENING

80%visible light transmission

A translucent dusted-glass finish that obscures the view.

What do the frosting specs mean?
Visible light transmission · 80%
Allows most visible daylight through while the frosted finish blurs the view of the pool. Light transmission describes brightness, not how clearly you can see through the film.
Solar energy rejection · 18%
Provides modest solar heat reduction. Dusted Crystal is selected here to screen the pool from view; the Solar Gard film in Parts A and B provides the stronger heat control.
Glare reduction · 16%
Softens brightness slightly. Its main purpose is the frosted appearance and screening, rather than strong sun shading.
UV protection · 81%
Reduces ultraviolet light passing through the film. It provides some protection against UV-related fading.
EtchFX product warranty & care details

Interior direct-sun installation: 10-year product warranty.

Exterior vertical installation: 3-year product warranty.

The Solar Gard edge-sealing options apply to Parts A and B only.
